Our legal system is imperfect, and it is up to us to improve it. New technologies have provided us with the tools to tell our stories in increasingly compelling ways; in the hands of skilled attorneys, the balance of justice can be tipped toward greater equity. People of all backgrounds can use the internet to follow and support the cases that matter to them and gain a greater understanding of what actually goes in our courts. Furthering the popular awareness of how the legal system functions will make its agents more accountable for their actions and make the law clearer and more engaging.
In addition to the usual in-person practices, we conduct depositions, client meetings and other legal necessities via video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Skype. For more information, please see the provisions of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 30(3) for such recording methods, as well as a sample letter dealing with this issue at greater length.
We use MyCase software to keep track of our caseload. Our clients are welcome to access their case files through the MyCase client portal so we can share complete transparency about the information we have on file and the progress of the case.
We strive for thorough and contemporaneous organization of case files. Whatever our clients provide us with will be carefully preserved and regularly reviewed and annotated as the situation requires.
